Our Evening at the Beach

 The other night my family and I went to the beach.



The shade of the sky was gorgeous, and it made the water a lovely color.

We went for a walk, and along the way, we found some sand art.

The ocean was absolutely freezing, so I didn't swim.

I had a wonderful time.

Randomness

Sorry for no posts. Be prepared for a post full of randomness now! =)

Today I babysat with American Heritage Girls.There was a little boy that kept running around, hugging us all. He was so funny; we asked him if he had washed his hands after using the rest room, and he goes up to Kryn and says, "Yeah, see?" then he proceeds to wipe his (wet) hands all over her arm. It was so funny!

So I thought that swim team was over (and I was rejoicing), but it's not (I'm sobbing). I was screaming when I heard this (probably literally). I hurt my back swimming (so I got to skip doing butterfly because I thought that's what caused it), but it's getting better. I think I'm going tomorrow; depends on whether or not Kryn goes.

 The other day we went on YouTube and watched a ton of Tim Hawkins movies (he's a Christian comedian). In some of them he talked about mothers, and Andy and I thought he sometimes described our mom PERFECTLY.  =) Oh, and this is totally off-topic (I told ya, I'm random!), but Jonny Diaz's song Fool For Love is DA BOMB. I thought it was talking about being in love with a girl, and I didn't know if I wanted to buy it or not, but it's actually talking about how he would do anything for God, which is better. So...I bought it. It's GREAT.

Oh, I got a flute! Yesterday we went to a flute concert both of my flute teachers (from band) were in. It was pretty good; I like playing the flute, but concert-type music (like some of the songs they had there) are really my favorite thing to listen to. Even so, the flute players did well.

 Hope the rest of your summer goes well! I can't believe it's almost over. Of course, here in Florida, summer isn't over until late November/December. If you live in Florida, 70 degree weather is cool to you. Seriously, a long time ago I was chatting with Kryn on Gmail, and it was somewhere around 70 degrees out - or above - and I was like, "It's cold here!"

That was a long time ago.

A few years ago, it's gotten cold (it was actually cold that time =), but last year it wasn't really cold. It was a nice temperature, though.

I'm no butterfly

I will save you from hearing my complaints about swim team and just say that I am utterly exhausted. We got a new coach. Let me tell ya, if I thought Zach was hard on us, I hadn't seen anything yet.

I don't get butterfly. When I hear the word buttefly, I think of a graceful creature, fluttering through the air. I am no butterfly. I have not ever been graceful. I don't do butterfly (the stroke) - I do some strange movement that makes it look like I'm drowning. And it's amazing I don't drown.

 I am not joking when I say that I am super tired. Like I was so tired I could barely lift my spoon tonight at dinner. I didn't up wearing my silly swim cap tonight - BIG mistake. I won't do that again.

And I said more than I told you I would.

And that's all I'll say on this.

And I use the word and too much.

A Little Shower....

 Today we had a little shower. Actually, it was a very large shower. There was lots and lots and lots of thunder. There was a lightning strike around our house - I think it was across the lake (aka the drainage ditch, aka the retention pond, aka the canal - it's not a canal). After the rain, I ventured out with my camera.

I love these earrings! People always say how cute they are (which, of course, makes me love the earrings).

And this is totally off-topic, too, but I heard Justin Bieber and Michael Bublé in Kohl's the other day. I am not a Belieber and I don't have Bieber Fever (although my friend and I wrote about how we did on the sidewalk once). Just so you know.

First Concert

Well, band is officially over. It was fun! - Yes, even the concert was fun. Even if there were annoying kids sitting next to me. Even if it was freezing backstage. And even if I was being stabbed in the back by a boy's flute, it was still pretty great. Especially considering that it was my first concert ever. I will probably do it again next year.

Now I am relaxing in a maxi dress, drinking a coffee drink (it's a milkshake-type-thing that Mom made). Earlier Andy went to a birthday party, so I got to go to lunch with Mom and Dad. We also got to go to Target and Hobby Lobby. I had a gift card for Hobby Lobby, so I got a canvas for my room. I think I am going to rearrange my room sometime soon; I can possibly post a pic (once I get it cleaned ;).

Sorry for not posting in a LONG time. Ok, it's only been a little less than a week. I have been SUPER DUPER BUSY! I have had....

Saturday: Swim meet and babysitting

Sunday: Church - and my cousin and his wife came over

Monday-Tuesday: Lock-in with American Heritage Girls (SOOOO FUN), band, and swimming

Today: Band and 4H - plus I got to go to Kryn's house! That was fun.

I PROMISE to post soon. Band will be over TOMORROW!!!! It has been a blast. Swimming ends sometime this month. I like the sport but not my coach, so I will be happy when we are done. And then school starts...my life is busy. =)

Late Fourth of July Post

  So, I meant to post on the Fourth....here is a picture I was going to post on that day.


Sorry for not posting earlier!

Yesterday was swim team (aka torture - just kidding). We have a swim meet tomorrow. Not super exciting, huh? Swim meets are pretty much hot and boring (except for your races, which last for a minute or less - they can be scary =). Maybe I'm wrong, considering that I've been to only one swim meet. The fun things were getting to hang out with Kryn and getting to go get ice cream afterwards....plus, we got to have a sleepover the night before. The rest was full of sitting and being nervous. And getting sunburned. And forgetting to put your goggles on (don't judge me, please).

ANYWAY.............

We are also babysitting and my cousin and his wife are coming over this weekend. OH AND NEXT WEEK IS OUR CONCERT (remember I said I was in band camp?)!!!!!!!! SCARY. I like the flute and it's nice that it's quiet...if you're with the band and you mess up, nobody notices. =)

Yesterday at practice we had to do WAY TOO MUCH butterfly. Well, we attempted to do it. I pretty much flailed and somehow made it to the other end of pool without drowning.

I hope everyone had a great Fourth of July. I certainly did! My family and I went to my friend Brooke's house. My other friend, Andrea, and her family came, too. It was soooooooooo fun! We played in the pool, launched rockets, set off fireworks, and played with sparklers and pop-its. Oh, and did I mention, Andrea showed Brooke and me how to do cartwheels and handstands? I failed miserably with the cartwheels, and I (think) I sort-of-kind-of-maybe figured out the handstands....ok, not really. =) Anyway, it was great. Now I have tons of bug bites.

Guinea Pig ~Overload~

 Get ready for a guinea pig (and other random things) overload. Ok, I doubt there is such a thing as a guinea pig "overload" - they are too cute to get tired of seeing. Or at least in my opinion.

I LOVE MY PIGGIES (guinea pigs - I do not own any real pigs).

Tomorrow is swimming; oh joy. And band. And piano. Oh, and remind me to never wear a dress to band again. Just in case I have to lay on the floor again.
